Mobridge-Pollock Middle School Home

Mission Statement

Helping students become responsible, productive, knowledgeable citizens.

The Mobridge-Pollock Middle School is dedicated to its students and committed to meeting the individual needs of young people. Each student is unique in needs, skills, knowledge, initiative and personal responsibility. The staff subscribes to the following beliefs:
1. Middle school students experience distinct developmental stages different from primary and secondary school.
2. The middle school years should be a time for students to explore interests, to build confidence and to develop learning methods that will serve them well in life.
3. The middle school must stress the ability to organize, interpret and apply knowledge in an environment where the student, not the program, is most important.
4. Students need a broad range of experiences that will teach them the diversity of cultures, political systems and people.
5. Students will assume responsibility for their actions and the consequences. There must be a school atmosphere that understands and relates to the physical, emotional, and social and academic need of this group.
